An Eye for What’s Trending
Whether it’s New York, Milan or India, the blur of vibrant hues on the lids was unmistakable at all fashion weeks. Eye makeup is a great way to spice up your look to something more fashionable and chic. We understand you cannot take make-up pains of a super model so we kind of tweaked this new rage to suit your convenience. Read on to discover how you can incorporate this daring incarnation into your everyday look.
Pastels on my lids
This romantically charming trend is a big hit on the runways of New York and Paris. Try experimenting with colours like sea spray, dove gray, cotton candy and mint chip ice cream. Using cream-based shadows instead of powder will really help these colours pop. The key to using such shades is to let your eyes shine by playing down the rest of the makeup on your face. Balance it out with a touch of soft pink on your lips and not much else.
Go colourfully smoky
Black is beautiful but blue, purple, green and silver are better. Smoky eyes will never go out of style, so why not try brightening up the look with some experimental colours? Use the color of your choice and smoke out the colour till you find the right intensity for you. Remember, just as with the typical smoky eyes, it’s best to downplay the rest of your makeup.
Subtlety of rose-gold
If disco is the first word that comes to your mind when you think of gold eye makeup, we beg you to stop. Yes, gold eye makeup can be tricky but if done right they are the perfect complement to sun-kissed skin. What’s new about gold this year is the to-die-for rose gold tint that’s been making the rounds of red carpets on celebs like like Megan Fox and Zooey Deschanel. This versatile shade can be played up or down as per the occasion. Try it in your own dress up capacity and we guarantee you’ll be drooling all over it like we are.
For all you daredevils out there, try making your peepers pop with a swatch of neon orange. Trendsetters like Fergie and Scarlett Johansson are rocking this colour which is known to make blue eyes pop and accentuate brown eyes as well. Before you say it’s a li’l too much for real wear, let us tell you that the key to following this runway trend is figuring out your shade of orange. Creamsicle shades of orange look great on fair skin, while coral hues are perfect for medium skin tones. If you are a dusky beauty try a bright tangerine shade. The secret to get this look right is layering and sheer application. Finish your look with a sweep of bronzer on your face for a sun-kissed glow.
Pencil it in
Eye makeup that turns heads is incomplete without bragging about eyeliner trends. This season the flicks and cat eyes are going one step forward. Pop eyeliner colours like electric blue and hot pink are giving this old classic black a new lease of life. If you’re feeling really dramatic, try going beyond the stroke on the lash line. Rim your lids with a black pencil, then mirror with a felt-tip liquid liner through the crease, adding a slight flick on the end. Cleopatra anyone?
