MARKET GUIDE: Champi, the new way

Beauty players have come up with hair oils which are versatile wonder products and they do the job of your styling cream, frizz serum, leave-in conditioner and shine spray, all in one.

Gone are the days when grandmamas chased us with reeking and slimy thick hair oils that refused to be shampooed off!  Today there is an entirely new generation of hair oils which are more of styling products and easily washed off… We review five such hair oils.

  • Rainforest Coconut Hair Oil from Body Shop: The Body Shop is on a high pedestal in our head as far as the quality is concerned. This time round too, the brand has not let us down. This oil feels silky soft to both the hair and the hands. It can be used either as an overnight scalp treatment or as pre-wash massage oil.  Free from colorant and silicones, the oil has a light fragrance that appeals the nostrils and is perfect for dry and damaged hair – one application does restore some of the shine, his everyday use non-sticky oil, is a potent hair tonic which prevents dandruff and arrests hair fall.
  • Just Herbs Javakusum Hair Oil: This everyday use non-sticky oil, is a potent hair tonic which prevents dandruff, arrests hair fall and premature greying. Hibiscus, amla and indigo work to gradually darken the hair while henna works as conditioner.
  • Tvam Hair OilThis hair oil promotes hair growth and stimulates the hair follicles to grow new hair. It strengthens the hair, prevents hair fall and reduces baldness and thinning of hair on regular use.
