How To: Tips for Glowing Skin

Waking up tired skin is a big deal! Here’s how to look fresh, even if you don’t feel it…

The skin reflects what we feel inside out. A hectic weekend, all the wrong food and at times not enough sleep can make you feel fagged out the first thing in the morning.  Here are some tips to wake up your skin and make you look like the diva you are, always!

Work Out:

Exercise equals endorphins aka happy hormones, and endorphins means that your skin will glow, inside out. Blood flowing to the face is one of the best ways to flush out toxins and to get a flush of health. Be sure to cleanse your face after working out though…

Drink Up:

Drinking plenty of water is pretty clichéd, but the eight-glasses-a-day rule is vital. Hydrated skin is healthy, plump and youthful-looking skin. Replacing the water you have lost in harsh, air-conditioned environments will plump out that skin remarkably. Splashing your face with cold water will also do you good…

Off with the Dead:

All that great new skin can’t be seen if it’s covered by a layer of dead skin. Use a gentle exfoliant to remove dead, dry skin and reveal brighter, more evenly textured skin

A Cold Wave:

Most make-up gurus swear by this – when you wake-up in the morning, slip in your serum or lotion into the fridge. The cold lotion will revive your skin like none other!

Eat Up:

Most beauty products on shelves are infused with skin-boosting antioxidants, like vitamins A, C and E. To give these your skin an extra high, snack on fruits and veggies that have high levels of antioxidants. The brighter they are—think berries, black grapes, papaya, peppers and spinach—the better they are at fighting skin-damaging free radicals.

Fake It:

It can take time to snap life back into sluggish skin. While you wait, use a concealer and blush to temporarily even out your skin tone. Enliven tired eyes with a lengthening mascara and just dab on some gloss…
