Mulberry is the somewhat neutral middle sister between wine and burgundy. While, it is said to be more suited to those with a lighter skin tone, you can mix it up with other shades to adapt to your skin. For a little extra oomph, add some gloss to your lips and blend. Mulberry also looks great with sheer, shimmering eyeshadows. Try Chambor’s Truly Lasting lipstick in Truly Mulberry or Faces Go Chic in Mulberry Slush.

There is something deliciously decadent about having lips stained the colour of crushed grapes. Shades of wine go with pretty much any skin tone so you have less to worry over there. Dark Side by MAC is a definite favourite in this category with its red-purple colouring. For a more brownish tone, Dior’s Rouge Lipstick in Hypnotic is a great choice. The key with wine lips is to keep the rest of your makeup minimal and make your bold lip statement the centrepiece.
