Get The Perfect Brim
Lip Care 101
- CTM, the lips too: You take the makeup and dirt off of your face, but do you remember to do the same with your lips? My favorite way to remove lipstick (and other stuff!) from lips is to use olive oil. Just rub a small of olive oil gently onto your lips, and remove with a warm, damp, clean washcloth. This will also help keep them moisturized. Else, the market is bursting with awesome lip and eye make-up removers that clean and moisturise – do indulge!
- Build a base: A natural lip balm or butter on the lips before applying your lipstick further protects your pout. Also, use lip plumping glosses sparingly – the cinnamon or capsaicin in them irritates the delicate skin.
- When you are going to be outside in the sun or wind, always wear something on your lips – A lip balm and butter is great but even a lipstick helps protect the skin of your lips from damage caused by environment.
- Did you know that you can exfoliate your lips? Just mix a little olive oil or Vaseline with some fine sugar, and gently rub a small amount onto your lips in a circular motion for about 30 seconds. Wipe off with a warm washcloth, and you are ready to go! You can also use your toothbrush to rub but don’t over-exfoliate and don’t do this more than once per week. After exfoliation, back to the lip balm or butter.
